The policy document compilation includes analysis of the Vietnamese World Heritage system, current legal frameworks and case-studies as well as results from the national workshop. Documents are available in both Vietnamese and English with both site-level and policy recommendations.
There are some new policy briefs added to the site. There is the Vietnamese version of the legal review, there is the policy recommendation from the Philippines and the roundtable discussion from Nepal.
There is also the working paper titled “Legislative and Policy Approaches to Heritage Law, Human Rights and World Heritage in Queensland: K’gari and Indigenous rights” by Helena Kajlich
Peter Larsen, coordinator of the research project, recently took part in a dialogue involving action planning on sustainable development in the World Heritage context. Invited by the German Ministry of Environment and the advisory bodies, the meeting took place on the island of Vilm, Germany. Policy lessons from the SNIS research project were shared and helped inform discussion on future steps and action.
